Dillsboro Shoreline Restoration

Client: Duke Energy

Equinox lead this massive design/build restoration project along the Tuckaseegee River in which the Dillsboro Dam was removed exposing 1 mile of riverbank. The methods of bank stabilization employed on the Tuckaseegee River upstream of the removed dam included revegetation utilizing various planting methods, revegetation with minor grading, rock-toe with bank shaping, boulder-toe structures, and riprap with joint staking. Equinox also provided bank stability monitoring and vegetation monitoring using the CVS-EEP Level I and II protocols.
