Equinox is proud to share that our Headwaters Conservation Plan for Jackson County has received a Recognition Award from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (NCASLA)! This honor reflects the thoughtfulness and rigor our team brought to a project that we care deeply about.
Equinox staff attended the NCASLA Awards Gala on Sunday May 31st to accept the award in person and to celebrate alongside fellow professionals from across the state.
The Headwaters Conservation Plan was completed for MountainTrue, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting our region’s forests, rivers and communities. The plan offers a comprehensive framework for conservation in Jackson County, with recommendations spanning farmland preservation, water quality protection, wildlife habitat connectivity, and sustainable land-use planning. Our goal was to give local stakeholders and decision-makers a practical roadmap for balancing growth with the long-term health of the region’s natural resources.
We are honored to see this work recognized by our peers, and even more grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of Jackson County’s landscapes for generations to come.
