The Ecusta Trail will be an 18-mile multi-use trail along an unused rail line that connects Hendersonville, NC with Brevard, NC. Equinox was part of a team that developed design and construction documents for the 6-mile stretch connecting downtown Hendersonville, NC to Horseshoe, NC. Equinox provided environmental analysis and design for landscape architectural elements, which included: a detailed site analysis, stream and wetland delineations, rare and endangered species screening, identification of restoration or bank stabilization opportunities, identification of potential parking areas, development of a wayfinding suite including branding and color palette, placement of wayfinding and other landscape architecture amenities, and construction details for placemaking elements.
