Equinox conducted a Master Plan and a study identifying the recreational opportunities surrounding Dillsboro which could aid in attracting additional tourism to promote access to the Tuckasegee River, thereby bolstering the economy of the Town of Dillsboro. The Master Plan focused on incorporating recreation, education, economic, and environmental benefits in a plan that also highlighted the richness of the history of the Town. The Master Plan featured a riverwalk, a central park area, bicycle and walking paths, fishing and boat piers, educational signage, overlooks, playgrounds, stormwater BMPs, and more.
