Corpening Creek 9-Element Watershed Plan

Client: Muddy Creek Restoration Partnership; Carolina Land & Lakes Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc.

Corpening Creek is on North Carolina's impaired waters list due to a severely impacted benthic macroinvertebrate community. The 15-year plan developed focuses on watershed improvement projects that address stormwater runoff and "hot spots" of water pollution, restore degraded streams and riparian areas, and protect large tracts of undeveloped land. The objective of the plan is to improve the biological integrity of the Corpening Creek watershed such that it can be removed from North Carolina's 303(d) impaired waters list.
