Appalachian National Scenic Trail Signage

Client: Appalachian Trail Conservancy Mid-Atlantic Office

Equinox is currently working on an interpretive plan and signage design for multiple locations along the world famous Appalachian Trail (AT) within the Delaware Watershed. This project is part of a large grant from the William Penn Foundation to tell the story of how the AT protects the drinking water supply of much of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Historic and natural resource themes are woven together and include information on the lands through which the trail passes, including two historic canal (that supplied coal to the nation) crossings, ecological restoration of one of the U.S.’s largest brownfields, and one of the East Coast’s largest migration corridors. Stakeholder partners on whose lands these signs will be located include: The National Parks Service, the Borough of Delaware Water Gap, and Lehigh Gap Nature Center.
