We are pleased to share with you that Beth Bailey joined our team in the spring of 2019. As a native of Asheville she understands the importance integrating responsible development practices with the conservation and restoration of our unique landscapes. Beth started her career as a landscape designer at the nationally recognized landscape architecture firm, Nelson Byrd Woltz. While there, she played an integral role in the firm’s conservation agriculture studio before returning to the University of Virginia to complete her Master in Landscape Architecture. She has since worked for design firms in Virginia, North Carolina, and Colorado.
Her work, both professionally and academically, has received accolades, including ASLA design awards (NBWLA, Wolf|Josey, UVa Lunch: student-run journal), an Architecture Magazine R&D Award (ecoMOD South), recognition as an AIA Emerging Professional (UVa Fabrication Lab), as well as recognition for entries in international design competitions (QUORUM & ParadoXcity).
Beth’s interdisciplinary background has greatly influenced her work within the field of Landscape Architecture. This broad experience allows her to cultivate connections and to design frameworks that promote collaboration and social agency. She designs experiential landscapes that nurture ecology, social health, and beauty.
