Client: Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
A collaborative project with the EBCI Fisheries and Wildlife Management Department was conducted to analyze watershed land use/land cover using GIS modeling. Data provided by EBCI was modeled to determine deer/elk habitat suitability and fire ratings for prescribed burn planning for watersheds within EBCI lands. Maps and data layers of the resulting models were provided in electronic format for management analysis and implementation. In addition, benthic macroinvertebrates were collected from brook trout streams for future analysis.
